Description
Method
Chlorides:
The colorimeter uses an adaptation of the mercury thiocyanate method to measure chloride. Chloride reacts with mercury thiocyanate and iron based reagents to produce an orange-brown ferric thiocyanate complex. The absorbance intensity is proportional to the chloride concentration in the sample and is measured at 470 nm.

Chlorides Low Range:
The colorimeter uses an adaptation of the mercury thiocyanate method to measure chloride. Chloride reacts with mercury thiocyanate and iron based reagents to produce an orange-brown ferric thiocyanate complex. The absorbance intensity is proportional to the chloride concentration in the sample and is measured at 470 nm. This method is optimezed for low range chlorides analysis, 0 – 500 ppb.
